About Therapy

1939859443It’s time to get curious about YOU!

Therapy is an exciting opportunity to explore and get better acquainted with yourself.

Why?? So you can show up in your relationships, at work, and inside your mind in ways that feel good.

What’s led you to this point in your life?

Why are you experiencing distress now?

How can you maximize your personal and professional potential?

We’ll investigate it all!

We will closely examine your thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns – in all their meaning and complexity.

We will examine how you feel conflicted (and might not even know it!).

Unconscious aspects of your being will naturally emerge, giving you a fuller picture of who you are.

283656011We’ll take a flexible, integrated, collaborative approach.

I have a lot of tools and techniques at my disposal: relational psychoanalysis, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic work.

You can Google these things for more information, but here’s the bottom line: We’ll use a multi-pronged approach to increase your self-awareness, reduce your symptoms, and improve your relationships.

Whether it’s anxiety, depression, stress at work or home, self-esteem, trauma, PTSD, relationship problems, parenting, disordered eating, or other compulsive behaviors…

You’ll walk away from each session more knowledgeable, invigorated, and empowered.

Ultimately, you’re going to feel better.

You’ll get the coping skills to harness your strength and live with confidence and abundance.

Let’s pay closer attention to the parts of yourself that you like so you can develop them more and move through the pain and frustration with greater ease.

With sensitivity, thoughtfulness, curiosity, spontaneity, and humor, I’m here to help you grow!

And you’ll feel nurtured and supported along the way. Call today for your free consultation: (607) 301-1203.

About Me

MichaleI’ve always wanted to help people.

Growing up, I was aware of my role as a wise friend. So I had a hunch that I’d be a good therapist, but I only truly discovered my passion as a therapist by working with different people and learning how vast and unique each person’s mind is.

The human mind has depth and complexity beyond what most people imagine. I help people get curious about their minds so they can access more of themselves and actualize greater potential.

Each of us has a unique story and path.

While some aspects of our experience are beyond our control, we can have so much impact on our own lives.

I help people tune into their thoughts and feelings more fully to determine how they’d like to influence their lives and what changes can be made, and they can feel hopeful about the opportunities ahead.

Because every person is unique, the therapeutic relationship we will create together will also be unique. Together, we can determine what works best for your therapy experience.

Being a therapist is something I take great pride in.

I bring a lot of heart to the work and aspire to have it be a meaningful process for each person I work with.

While I have developed professional ways of listening and intervening to help people, I also channel my own humanness into the work to make a real connection between us.

A little about me outside of the therapy arena…

I love playing basketball and have a pretty good far shot.

I will eat any brand of salt and vinegar chips and am always at risk of finishing the bag myself.

I look forward to my coffee every morning and am not above swearing when necessary, sometimes in session. 🙂
