It’s time to get curious about YOU!
Therapy is an exciting opportunity to explore and get better acquainted with yourself.
Why?? So you can show up in your relationships, at work, and inside your mind in ways that feel good.
What’s led you to this point in your life?
Why are you experiencing distress now?
How can you maximize your personal and professional potential?
We’ll investigate it all!
We will closely examine your thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns – in all their meaning and complexity.
We will examine how you feel conflicted (and might not even know it!).
Unconscious aspects of your being will naturally emerge, giving you a fuller picture of who you are.
We’ll have some fun as we take a flexible, integrated, collaborative approach.
I am a psychodynamic therapist with many tools and techniques at my disposal including psychoanalysis, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic work.
You can Google these things for more information, but here’s the bottom line: We’ll use a multi-pronged approach to shed some of those negative ingrained beliefs so we can reignite your fire, increase self-awareness, reduce your symptoms, and improve your relationships.
Whether it’s anxiety, depression, stress at work or home, low self-esteem, perfectionism, trauma, PTSD, relationship problems, parenting, disordered eating, other compulsive behaviors, or just being too damn hard on yourself…
You’ll walk away from each session more knowledgeable, empowered, and hopeful about the possibilities for yourself and your future.
Ultimately, you’re going to feel better.
You’ll get the coping skills to harness your strength and live with the confidence you’ve been craving.
Let’s pay closer attention to the parts of yourself that you like so you can develop them more and move through the pain and frustration with greater ease.
With sensitivity, thoughtfulness, curiosity, spontaneity, and humor, I’m here to help you grow!
You’ll feel nurtured and supported along the way. Call today for your free consultation: (607) 301-1203.
About Me
I would describe therapy as…
Two imperfect people sitting in a room together, hopefully with a good sense of humor. One person (that person being me) is trained in ways that help the other person (that person being you) process feelings more fully and affect the change you want for your life.
It’s sure to be meaningful, hard, relieving, rewarding, fun, sucky at times, complex, interesting, enlivening, empowering, and so many other things.
How do we even do therapy?
There’s no script, so we’ll figure it out together.
I help people tune into their thoughts and feelings more fully so they can determine how they’d like to influence their lives.
While some aspects of our experience are beyond our control, we can have so much impact on our own lives.
Small tweaks go a long way. Together, we’ll find those manageable changes that can be made so you can feel better about yourself.
You’re right to want more for your life.
My background:
I’m a daughter, bossy oldest sibling, wife to my best friend, friend and confidant to many others, coffee lover, real laughter craver, passionate therapist, deep feeler, someone with a strong Jewish identity, and above all else, an imperfect human.
I bring all of that and my years of clinical training to the table to help you embrace yourself as an imperfect human so you can appreciate (or at least tolerate) the messy, the flawed, the uncertain, the VULNERABLE with more joy, gratitude and relief.
