You’ve tried in countless ways to connect with your child.
But nothing seems to get through to them.
Each time you argue, the hurt and frustration on both ends grow, and you can’t find your way out. In these moments, you say and do things you regret just moments later and then feel horrible guilt.
The love and care you have for your child are why you keep trying, but the same back-and-forth conflict creates unbearable tension and is exhausting.
You want so much for your child, but it’s been hard to help them see you are on their side.
There is no roadmap or manual to parenting.
It is the most difficult job without sufficient support.
Every child is different, every parent is different, and every parent-child combination is unique.
I provide sessions to the parents of young or adult children who want help improving the quality of their relationship with their child(ren).
We do this by considering how you are currently parenting, your experience with your parents, and tuning into what your child needs from you that they may not be able to verbalize.
With a lot of support and a nonjudgmental stance, I help parents locate some of their blind spots, examine the parts of their childhood they may be carrying over into their parenting, and gain empowerment through knowing they can be the parents they want to be.
Identifying steps you can take as a parent and having a support system can reduce the overall sense of overwhelm, dread, and even resentment toward your child.
These things are difficult to discuss because we all want to think of ourselves as only loving, but these human realities are important to bring to our work together.
Every day shouldn’t feel like a battle with your child.
You don’t have to keep struggling with parenting. I’ll help you improve your connection with your child.
